Never Repeat the Same Setup
We’re back where it all began, at Daytona. This time we’ll be racing at night time instead of the day. Your car will have a lot more grip and be able to run higher speeds for this race. The crew chief is going to have to make some adjustments to the previous Daytona setup to accommodate for that. The venue may be the same, but it’s a whole new race to prepare for.

It’s Only Acceptable to Make Allies at Daytona
You’ll need the help of someone else to win this race. It’s impossible to make a pass without a drafting partner to push you past the leader. Don’t do anything to make someone mad early in the race – it might end up being the car that you need to push you to victory. Don’t give anyone a reason to leave you high and dry.

Be Defensive From Up Front
No one is going to be able to pull away from the field. There are always 42 cars behind the leader with a full head of steam. If you’re leading on the last lap, make your car as wide as you can. The other guys are going to try and draft by you, so keep an eye on your rearview and stay one step ahead of them to the checkered flag.

Bump Drafting OK, But When?
Bump drafting is a necessary evil. A bump draft is when you run into the person in front of you to push him past another car. It’s OK to do, but keep it to a minimum in the early stages. There’s no reason to risk a crash if it’s not time to race to the checkered.

Should You Have to Help Your Teammates?
Your teammates will be an asset to you during the race. Work with them and count on one another to draft to the front. When it comes down to the final laps, though, it’s every man for himself. Don’t worry about an allegiance to a team, manufacturer, or friend. You follow the person that will get you to Victory Lane.
